Our History Serving You
bopi (Bloomington Offset Process, Inc.) has been providing businesses with quality printing and business solutions since the founding of the company in 1947. The company was launched in Bloomington, Illinois by Carroll Cade and Jack Schoenburg. The two quickly grew the business and the team, which expanded to over 10 employees within the first three years, including new sales manager Burt Mercier.
In the late 1960s, bopi relocated from downtown Bloomington to a larger facility on Veterans Parkway with room to grow. In 1974, Burt's son, Tom Mercier, joined the company and trained under Mr. Cade until his retirement. Tom and Burt gained 100% ownership in 1985 and Tom became bopi President in 1993. After the sudden passing of his father in 1994, Tom led the company into a dramatic expansion of its print capabilities, while adding new services including die-cutting, gluing, digital printing, and mailing.
In August 2018, bopi acquired JK Creative Printers and Mailing in Quincy, Illinois, expanding its market into the greater western Illinois, eastern Missouri, and southeast Iowa areas. The Quincy division continues to retain strong business relationships built through over a century of operation.
