HISTORY
Established in 1947, Bloomington Offset Process, Inc. (BOPI) has stood as a beacon of quality printing and superb customer service. From its humble beginnings, BOPI has fostered a tradition of excellence that spans generations.
Rooted in family values, BOPI's journey began with Sales Manager Burt Mercier, whose dedication set the standard for the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. In 1974, Burt's son, Tom, joined the ranks, marking the inception of a multigenerational legacy. Eleven years later, the Mercier family assumed full ownership of BOPI, paving the way for Tom to ascend to the role of President in 1993.
The Mercier family's dedication to BOPI's success was further solidified with the addition of Tom's son, Jeff, in 2002. Having honed his skills across various departments, Jeff was appointed President in 2023, ushering in a new era of leadership as BOPI proudly transitioned into a third-generation, family-owned enterprise.
In pursuit of continued growth and expansion, BOPI broadened its horizons in 2018 with the acquisition of JK Creative Printers in Quincy, Illinois. This strategic move enabled BOPI to extend its reach, offering top-notch printing services to communities across western Illinois, eastern Missouri, and southeast Iowa.
Over the years, BOPI has evolved to meet the dynamic needs of its clientele, expanding its service offerings to include die-cutting and gluing, digital printing, and the integration of an 8-color press and mailing services. In 2024, BOPI elevated its capabilities once more with the introduction of paperboard packaging, further enhancing its commitment to delivering comprehensive print solutions to valued customers.

SUSTAINABILITY
Environmental stewardship is a priority at BOPI. We are committed to sustainable practices such as recycling, responsibly sourcing paper to maintain our FSC certification, and utilizing low-cure energy inks and coatings. In a significant stride towards sustainability, solar panels were installed on our production facility in Bloomington in the spring of 2022. Since June 2023, this initiative has led to a reduction of over 100,000 pounds of CO2 emissions, underscoring our ongoing commitment to minimizing our environmental footprint.
